TAMPA, FL. — September 2, 2014. The Florida State Fair Authority is seeking nominations of outstanding African American, Asian/Pacific, and Hispanic individuals who exemplify a commitment to excellence and have enhanced Tampa or Florida’s rich heritage and culture within their respective communities. Nominees must be of African American, Asian/Pacific, or Hispanic descent and may be from the public or private sector.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: The nomination deadline is September 30, 2014. Please review the nomination criteria included with the nomination form before submitting your nomination.

All nominations will be reviewed by the Fair Authority’s Diversity Advisory committee members who will choose up to five candidates/nominees from each minority group. The public will then get to vote for their favorite nominee to determine those selected for the honor. Honorees will be recognized on the Wall of Fame at the 2015 Florida State Fair. The honorees and/or their immediate family members (if the nominee is deceased) will be invited to the ceremony and presentation which will take place at the 2015 Florida State Fair on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Waterfront Café.
The 111th annual Florida State Fair will take place February 5-16, 2015. Operating under the direction of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and its Board of Directors, the Florida State Fair Authority, located on the Fairgrounds adjacent to I-4 and I-75 in Tampa, Florida, strives to create positive entertainment experiences through the annual State Fair and variety of year-round events and quality competitive programs. The Florida State Fair Authority (FSFA) operates strictly from revenues generated from the annual State Fair and other events throughout the year. Although the FSFA is an instrumentality of the state of Florida, it does not receive any annual tax appropriations from the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County or the State.
