Tampa, FL, August 27, 2014 — For the fourth year in a row, the yoga and wellness festival, Rasa-Lila Fest, returns to the Bay area uniting yoga and wellness enthusiasts from the Southeast and around the world. This year’s festival takes place October 10-11, 2014 at the Camp Brorein Campgrounds in Odessa, Florida and features a full line-up of yoga classes, wellness seminars, and musicians performing every hour from 9am-8pm with a special Friday night yoga class to kick off the event.
Founded by real estate entrepreneur, Nathan Bangs, as a way to bring members of the wellness community together, this festival has grown into the foremost yoga festival in the Southeast, drawing a crowd of almost 1,000 people last year. With the festival growth, Bangs still keeps the festival focus on what he calls “the local yoga movement” by featuring yoga teachers and wellness experts from the surrounding Florida communities.
According to Bangs, “the local yoga movement” is what keeps the Rasa-Lila Fest rooted in the community. “Rasa-Lila Fest was created from the simple vision of bringing the local yoga community from near and wide together. Each year, the Rasa-Lila Fest has organically grown because it is a true celebration of our passion, uniting our community at one location for one great event. This year we are showcasing Tampa Bay’s growing local movement by partnering with local and regional yogis offering workshops and classes as well as a stellar line-up of local food and raw juice vendors in the Rasa-Lila Village.”
Rasa-Lila means “the dance of love” in Sanskrit and aims to give participants an enjoyable wellness experience. Beginning Friday night with a high-energy yoga class led by Orlando yoga teacher, Tymi Howard, attendees can choose to camp out under the stars or in the VIP covered camp area, either way, all have access to the fire pit and facilities which include indoor bathrooms and showers. Saturday begins with a meditation and then over 20 yoga classes and wellness seminars throughout the day, including kids yoga. There are also a variety of musical acts performing throughout the day and a complete Rasa-Lila village that includes local artists, restaurants, and more. Stand-up paddle boarding and canoes are available with SUP Yoga offered on a first come basis. The festival is family friendly and does not sell beer or wine.
Annie Okerlin, owner of Yogani Studios, has been one of the sponsors of the event since the very first Rasa-Lila Fest. “We look forward to being a part of Rasa-Lila Fest each year. Being outside under the oak trees connecting with all these wonderful people in the yoga community recharges the body and mind in the most magnificent way.”
