Dr. Ignatius comes to Florida Cancer Affiliates from Royal Oak, Michigan, where she served as assistant professor at Oakland University-William Beaumont Hospital and as a physician at Hematology and Oncology Consultants at Rose Cancer Center. At Rose Cancer Center, Dr. Ignatius cared for patients with hematological and oncological problems, participated in clinical trials and was involved in teaching of residents and fellows. As assistant professor at Oakland University-William Beaumont Hospital of Medicine she participated in the teaching of residents, hematology and oncology fellows, as well as participating in clinical trials and multiple tumor boards.
She received her Medical Degree from the prestigious Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, India following pre-degree courses in physics, chemistry, and biology at the University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, India. She received training in internal medicine at Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India, and completed her residency in internal medicine at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. She completed her medical oncology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital.
Dr. Ignatius is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is ACLS and BLS trained by the American Heart Association.
Dr. Ignatius is the author of many articles and abstracts in cancer and hematology treatment and research.
Dr. Ignatius demonstrates her concern for the community in which she serves by volunteering for various medical tasks conducted through church and community health centers benefiting the rural and tribal populations in India. In Detroit she volunteered at the Community Health Fair organized by Detroit’s Malayalee Association in 2009 and the Chaldean church in 2013.
