Students involved in Bulls Radio will now have internships and mentorship opportunities with the professionals at WUSF. In addition, Bulls Radio will now be heard on WUSF’s HD 3 channel. The station will also still be available on 1620 AM and online at www.bullsradio.org.
“Everyone at WUSF Public Media has a passion for broadcasting and radio,” said JoAnn Urofsky, general manager of WUSF Public Media. “We enjoy igniting that passion in others, so this partnership with Bulls Radio is a great way to share our experiences with the USF students who are interested in learning from those who have spent their career in broadcasting.”
Programming at Bulls Radio will remain in full control of the student volunteers and will continue to include an eclectic mix of music, talk radio, campus information and live broadcasts of USF Bulls sports events.
“This partnership with WUSF Radio has endless benefits for us,” said Zak Kuiper, Director of Bulls Radio. “It not only boosts our credibility and makes us more relevant as a university radio station on campus, but it also gives our students new access to all of the expertise at WUSF.”
“Whether students are interested in production, management, engineering, marketing or other aspects of the radio business, this new partnership with WUSF Radio is going create a great incubator for aspiring radio professionals at USF,” added Kuiper.
Bulls Radio broadcasts from state-of-the-art facilities in the Marshall Student Center at USF. It is one of the largest student radio stations in Florida and allows USF students a unique opportunity to learn all about music, journalism and radio.
