(SARASOTA, FL) When Salt & Light Productions released its “Don’t Text & Drive” video in July, the organization could not have imagined it would find an audience as large as it has. In the first month after its release, organizations across the United States and Canada have presented the video on their own web pages and social media platforms. One such organization, “The 99”, displayed the three minute video on their Facebook page where it was viewed more than 7 million times in a few weeks.
According to Stuart Roth, founder of Salt & Light Productions, “We created the video because we felt it was a significant issue at this moment in time. We always expected it to make an impact, but we were surprised at just how big an audience it has found in such a short period of time.”
A Lakewood Ranch based non-profit organization, Salt & Light Productions created the video as a tool to raise awareness about the dangers of texting and driving. “Nothing communicates a thought or an idea like video does” said Don Gangnagel, Senior Producer for Salt & Light. “We created this video series that is available at no-cost to non-profits, governmental and educational institutions to help communicate an important public safety issue.”
In the past several years, the organization’s team has been repeatedly recognized by their peers for the excellence of their projects, winning 37 Telly Awards. Gangnagel has also earned two Emmy Awards and seven Emmy nominations for his work at Salt & Light Productions.
“More important than awards is our mission to serve others and be a source of inspiration and encouragement as we venture forward helping those less fortunate than ourselves” says Stuart Roth. ” At the Center, we strive to remain cognizant that ‘to whom much is given, much will be required.'”
