SARASOTA/BRADENTON, Fla. – Goodwill Manasota was recently recognized with the “Market Dominance by Share of Used Goods” award for having one of the highest market penetration scores at the Goodwill Industries International Summer Conference in Orlando, Fla.
Market penetration is determined by the number of people who shop at and donate to a particular Goodwill region, divided by the size of the relevant market population. Goodwill Manasota received this award last year and continued to hold the top spot again this year in the medium-sized agency category, which includes Goodwill agencies with revenues between $19 and $41 million, one of the largest categories.
“Goodwill Manasota, Inc. received the market dominance award based on its exemplary efforts in achieving operation excellence within its sized market,” said Michael Meyer, vice president donated goods retail for Goodwill Industries International. “Goodwill Manasota is a top achiever amongst the Goodwill enterprise, generating revenue in its community for job training and other needed services for people with disabilities and disadvantages, and anyone facing challenges to finding employment.”
According to Goodwill Industries International, the Market Dominance by Share of Used Goods award recognizes organizations that have capitalized on the highest proportion of the available used goods market. Agencies turn donated goods into revenue, which Goodwill Manasota uses to improve the community by offering services and programs that assist people in all walks of life, whether they are trying to find employment, better themselves through education, or transition from military to civilian life.
“We are extremely proud of our organization and the great things that we are able to do because of the leadership from our board of directors and through the generosity of our community,” said Bob Rosinsky, president & CEO of Goodwill Manasota. “When people donate to Goodwill, they are helping us to fund programs and provide assistance to those who need it most – this award is a prestigious recognition of those efforts.”
