Hillsborough County’s Pet Resource Center, the County’s animal shelter, invites the community to another First Saturday Celebration on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the facility at 440 N. Falkenburg Road in Tampa.
The family-friendly event series, which is on the first Saturday of each month, aims to save lives and boost community engagement. The September 6 First Saturday Celebration will offer back-to-school pet adoption specials, food trucks, and expert lessons on pet care and training courtesy of the Hillsborough County Community College Vet Tech Club.
Exhibitors include a pet portrait artist, and kids can even win prizes for creating a portrait of a favorite shelter pet.
Hillsborough County’s Pet Resource Center offers a wide variety of adoptable pets for a great value. Adoption fees includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, County license tag, micro-chip and free chip registration. Kennels marked “now can go” showcase the many animals fully vetted and ready to leave for their forever homes, same-day, for just $20. Prospective adopters can choose from more than 150 of these adorable adoptables at a single location during First Saturday Celebration on September 6.
Because the Pet Resource Center is often the first place to receive the community’s lost and surrendered animals, the shelter hopes to be the first place adopters consider when selecting a new furry, family member. The facility is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for adoptions, lost pet searches, and County pet license tags.
