LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – Seasoned national land developer, Mark Evans — formerly of Pulte Group in Orlando, FL– has joined the Neal Communities team as vice president of land development for its Southwest Florida division.
Originally from Ohio, Evans has a civil engineering background and more than 10 years of experience in land development and community building for one of the nation’s largest builders. He holds a bachelor’s degree in technology from Ohio Northern University and a master’s degree in business administration from The University of Findlay.
“Evans will work closely with our already-assembled, top-notch land development team to position the company for future growth,” said Michael Storey, Neal Communities’ President. “He will be acquiring and developing communities that will allow us to serve customers with the best possible product. Evans’ experience working for a national homebuilder positions us well for the aggressive growth pattern we are embarking on due to continued and rapid sales,” said Storey.
While at Pulte Group, Evans managed an aggregate budget of more than $250 million and was responsible for direct land entitlement, development and delivery of finished lots totaling more than 5,000 homes.
As Neal Communities expands rapidly, Evans will assist the prolific Southwest Florida builder in its effort to gain additional, existing market share and reach into new markets.
“There are factors of success from a national homebuilding perspective that can certainly be applied to Neal’s effective model while still maintaining the key factors of the philosophy already in place,” said Evans. “There are some root characteristics of success in certain business models that we can implement and tweak while still maintaining Neal’s core values,” he said.
Evans cites four main factors in fueling his decision to join the Neal team. “The location here on Florida’s gulf coast is ideal, the quality of life is pristine, Pat Neal’s compelling vision for the future, and the incredible background, and values of the executive team were all things I gravitated toward. The culture established at Neal stems from family values, strong leadership, and integrity was clearly evident during my first meetings. It’s an atmosphere that I wanted to be a part of immediately.”
Engaged to be married in November, Evans enjoys spending time with his fiancée and his four rescue English Bulldogs in his spare time.
