Brooksville, FL – The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce announces that it is offering its annual course in Public Speaking to its members and the general public at large. This year’s course is entitled, “Learn to Speak so that Others Will Listen.” The course consists of five weekly sessions of two hours each, plus one practical participation. Classes are held on Friday, September 19 through October 24 from 11:30 am to 1:30pm at the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce building, training room, 15588 Aviation Loop Dr., Brooksville, Florida 34604. Participants are invited to bring their lunch while they learn.
It will be conducted by Vince Vanni, who has provided public speaking training to countless business professionals and public officials. Vanni will combine his 35 years in sales, marketing, and public speaking to help participants develop the presentation style that’s appropriate for their own personality.
Topics to be covered include:
- The effective 30 second elevator speech,
- How to do a Lunch n’ Learn that works effectively
- Dealing with fear,
- Projecting confidence,
- Preparing and delivering the speech , and more
There is even a component on how to talk about your “pet” non-profit project. This is a hands-on course. Participants have the opportunity to develop and refine their skills through practical participation.
The course is specifically tailored to the needs of those who participate. Particular attention is given to assisting those who are uncomfortable making presentations to groups of 4 or more.
The course will also cover how to properly use visual aids (especially power point), how to handle questions and answers, and even how to handle the hostile audience.
