SARASOTA, FL – Past President for the AdFed Suncoast, Mrs.Vivian Owen, recently accepted an Appreciation Award on behalf of the 2013-14 Public Service Committee for their work with the Suncoast Center for Independent Living of Sarasota (SCIL). SCIL was selected as the 2013-14 Public Service client as part of AdFed Suncoast’s initiative to help local non-profits obtain higher visibility in the community.
HealthSouth Rehabilitation of Sarasota and AdFed Suncoast were honored at the 24th Annual Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Celebration hosted at SCIL. HealthSouth Rehabilitation of Sarasota and AdFed Suncoast received the SCIL ADA Empowerment Award for their charitable work to improve the lives of people with disabilities in Manatee and Sarasota counties. This work included updating SCIL’s website, hosting a fundraiser and providing marketing support throughout the 2013-14 term.

AdFed Suncoast is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the art and business of advertising through professional education, legislative efforts and community service. AdFed Suncoast is a local chapter of the American Advertising Federation’s Fourth District, which consists of nearly 1,500 AAF members in 23 local chapters throughout Florida and the Caribbean.
AdFed Suncoast meets regularly, hosting speakers on various industry topics. It also hosts the advertising community’s most prestigious event, the annual ADDY Awards. Membership is open to anyone in Sarasota and Manatee counties involved in advertising, media, communications and creative services.
