The Nature Coast Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals will be holding the second annual National Philanthropy Day event on November 18th, at 11:30 am at Spartan Manor in New Port Richey. The committee is accepting nominations for the banquet where Philanthropists from Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties will be recognized for their dedication to community service and giving. Nominations of community leaders are requested in six categories including:
– Philanthropist of the Year
– Philanthropic Corporation of the Year
– Philanthropic Small Business of the Year
– Philanthropic Service Organization of the Year
– Volunteer of the Year in Philanthropy
– Youth in Philanthropy

More than 160 guests attended the Chapter’s 2013 National Philanthropy Day ® event which honored State Senator Wilton Simpson as the Philanthropist of the Year. Other awardees included West Pasco Sertoma Club as Philanthropic Service Organization of the Year, Greg Henry Restoration Specialist Inc. as Philanthropic Small Business of the Year, Morton Plant Mease Health Care as Philanthropic Corporation of the Year, Betty Kempf as Volunteer of the Year and Ashlyn Head as Youth in Philanthropy. Proceeds from National Philanthropy Day® benefit the AFP Nature Coast Chapter in their work to promote ethical and effective professional fundraising and scholarships for members of non-profits. Sponsorship levels vary and include tables of eight at the event, and opportunities to honor individuals in the program. Sponsorships are now available.
