ABOUT PAINTING WITH A TWIST:
The fast-growing art franchise has a location in Carrollwood, Tampa. Their hands-on art venue combines camaraderie and creativity, allowing guests to create a painting under the direction of an experienced artist during two-hour ($35) or three-hour ($45) sessions while sipping wine, BYOB style. This short video shows just why Painting With a Twist is not about fine art, but fun art!
They offer both public classes, where the template painting is predetermined, and private parties, where the host selects his or her painting from a database of over 3,500 paintings. The artwork ranges from landscapes, abstracts and cityscapes to creative renderings of animals, iconic buildings and florals. This melange of different styles and topics comes from Painting With A Twist artists around the country, while others are famous artworks, such as Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers.” Although pre-sketched canvases are sometimes prepared for the most difficult paintings, most guests start with blank canvases. While most classes are for adults, they offer kid-themed paintings certain days.
Painting with a Twist is the leading paint-and-sip franchise with more than 150 franchises in 25 states. Founded in 2007 by Cathy Deano and Renee Maloney, Painting with a Twist began franchising in 2009 and provides customers with paint, a canvas and brushes that lead to a fun evening with friends and a finished piece of art. The company maintains a strong focus on giving back to the local community, and by the end of 2014, Painting with a Twist will have donated more than $1 million through their charity arm, Painting with a Purpose.
