Statewide Banking Company Partners With Noted Marine Artist
August 6, 2014 – (SARASOTA and BRADENTON, FL) – The majestic blue sailfish depicted by celebrated artist Guy Harvey is a colorful new symbol of the Gateway Bank Guy Harvey Legacy Checking program. Concurrent with the much heralded “Shark Week,” the Gateway banks headquartered in Sarasota, Daytona Beach and Ocala will roll out the Guy Harvey Legacy Account on August 11, 2014.
For every new Guy Harvey account opened at any Gateway Bank in Florida, the bank will donate $50 to the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, a non-profit supporting marine research and education for the betterment of sustainable fisheries and ocean ecology. New Guy Harvey Legacy checking account holders will also be awarded Guy Harvey’s Hammerhead Nation membership. Hammerhead Nation is a club comprised of fans who share Harvey’s passion for angling, diving, boating, traveling and conserving our marine environment.
In addition to a host of value added features, new Guy Harvey Legacy Account customers will receive a distinctively designed co-branded Guy Harvey Debit Card. Checks employing a similar design are also available. The account requires a minimum opening balance of only $100.00.
“We are very excited about the new Gateway Bank Legacy checking and debit card program benefitting my Ocean Foundation,” said Harvey. “It is an extremely generous commitment on the part of Gateway Bank. We plan to put the donation funds to good use making a difference for the ocean and marine wildlife resources of the State of Florida.”
Participating banks are: Gateway Bank of Southwest Florida in Sarasota and Bradenton; Gateway Bank of Central Florida, with offices in Ocala, Gainesville and Alachua; and Gateway Bank of Florida with offices in Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach and Port Orange.

He continued, “Guy Harvey is a friend of Gateway Bank through his relationship with our affiliate bank, Gateway Bank of Central Florida in Ocala, and we welcome the opportunity to support the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation through this spectacular new product.”
