The ABA Academy is a nonprofit school for children with Autism that opened in August 2013. The school has grown from one to three classrooms and will be opening a state of the art multi-sensory room this fall. This sensory room was made possible by a fundraiser held last April by Jaco Boxing in Sarasota that brought the community together and raised over $18,000 for the school. The sensory room will be available to all students and includes swings, crash mats, a ball pit, fiber optics, bubble tube and chalk wall.
The ABA Academy serves students ages 5-15 in a small student teacher ratio so that students may have individualized programming to ensure their success. The school is overseen by Board Certified Behavior Analysts who specialize in Autism Spectrum Disorders and Behavior Analysis. The school resumes this fall on August 18th and follows the Manatee school calendar year. For more information or to schedule a tour contact school director Shelly Swift at 941-388-8020.
