Lakeland, FL -– Watson Clinic is pleased to announce four new physicians who have joined their team of experts.
· Rachel A. Burke, MD, is a board-certified radiologist joining our team of imaging specialists. Comprehensive breast imaging services are Dr. Burke’s areas of expertise, including screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and ultrasound-guided, stereotactic and MRI-guided breast biopsy. Dr. Burke received her medical degree from Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. She performed an internship in internal medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine/Queens Hospital Center in Jamaica, NY, and a residency in diagnostic radiology at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. Dr. Burke completed a Fellowship in breast imaging from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. She also served a chief of mammography at the Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC from 2009 – 2013. Dr. Burke is a member of the American College of Radiology, the Radiologic Society of North America, and the Polk County Medical Association.
· Gina M. Iacovella, MD, is a critical care intensivist who will provide care for inpatients during their stay at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Dr. Iacovella specializes in providing a variety of treatments related to nephrology, such as acute kidney injury, acid-base disorders, volume management, electrolyte disorders and renal replacement therapy. She received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, and performed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. She completed a fellowship in nephrology at Yale University in New Haven, CT, and an additional fellowship in critical care at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She was chosen as Cedars-Sinai Resident of the Year in 2011. Dr. Iacovella is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology, and is board-eligible in critical care. She is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, the American thoracic Society, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the National Kidney Foundation, the American Medical Association and the Polk County Medical Association.
· Diagnostic radiologist Allie M. Metcalfe, MD joins Dr. Burke and the team of imaging specialists at Watson Clinic. Dr. Metcalfe’s areas of expertise include comprehensive breast imaging services including screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, ultrasound-guided, stereotactic and MRI-guided breast biopsy. She received her medical degree from the University School of Medicine in Jackson, MS, performed her internship in internal medicine at Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham, AL, and her residency in diagnostic radiology at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Metcalfe then completed a fellowship in breast imaging at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. She is board-certified in radiology, and a member of the American College of Radiology, the Radiologic Society of North America, the Society for Advancement of Women’s Imaging, the Society of Breast Imagers, and the Polk County Medical Association.
· Gabriel Pantol, MD, joins Watson Clinic’s team of expert neurologists, located at the Main Clinic. He is currently accepting new patients: 863-680-7300. Dr. Pantol’s areas of expertise include the treatment of migraines and assorted neuromuscular disorders, as well as multiple sclerosis. He is trained to provide Botox injections for chronic migraines, cervical dystonia, upper limb spasticity (with needle EMG guidance) and for spasmodic dysphonia. Dr. Pantol received his medical degree from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo School of Medicine in Mendoza, Argentina. He performed an internal medicine internship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine/Queens Hospital Center in Queens, NY, and his residency in neurology at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, Long Island Jewish Medical Center/North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, where he also served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in electrophysiology and neuromuscular disease at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. Dr. Pantol was Chief of Neurology and Stroke at Cape Fear Valley Health System before joining Watson Clinic. He is board-certified in neurology, electrodiagnostic medicine and neuromuscular medicine, and is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Polk County Medical Association, and a Fellow of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
