About The Home Association.
The Home Association, one of Tampa’s oldest charities, has served the needs of the community’s elderly population for 114 years. Established in 1899 by charity-minded women to care for elderly travelers quarantined during a Yellow Fever epidemic, the not- for-profit organization built and owns the historic facility at 1203 East 22nd Ave. The National Historic Registry landmark has served as a residential care facility for the community’s elderly without interruption since 1924, and continues to be overseen by a volunteer board of directors comprised of all women members. The organization’s mission is to preserve the life and viability of The Home Association building and grounds so it can continue to serve those in need.
