TAMPA, Fla. (July 31, 2014) – The Epicurean hotel has announced Linda Zipkin as membership and community relations manager for the hotel’s spa, Evangeline. In this newly created position, Zipkin will focus on increasing spa awareness in the community, new memberships, local group sales, spa events, and managing charitable involvement and contributions. She will also assist in operations and serve as manager-on-duty, as needed.
“Linda’s experience in community relations and event planning are true assets for Evangeline,” stated Epicurean general manager Tom Haines. “Her depth of knowledge and industry experience will maintain the Epicurean’s commitment to providing a world-class spa to our hotel and local guests.”
Zipkin’s past experience includes seven years as the public relations manager for Neiman Marcus in Tampa. With more than 20 years’ experience, Zipkin has also worked for Saks Fifth Avenue and Jacobson’s stores. She is particularly known in the community for her role in increasing awareness of philanthropic organizations through planning social events for organizations such as the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer & Research Center, Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Tampa Museum of Art and Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Linda is also involved with groups such as The Chiseler’s, LampLighter’s and the Tampa Yacht Club.
Named for Evangeline, the iconic statue located in the neighboring Bern’s Steak House, the 2,800-square-foot spa features five treatment rooms, including two couple’s treatment rooms, a relaxation room and manicure and pedicure stations.
