Tampa, Florida (July 28, 2014) – Tampa Community Hospital (formerly Town & Country Hospital) announces the appointment of Alan D. Feldman, MD as Medical Director of its well established Addiction Recovery Center.
Dr. Feldman received his medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio following a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology/pre-medicine from the prestigious John Carroll University, a private Jesuit university in University Heights, Ohio. Dr. Feldman completed his general psychiatry residency at University of South Florida College of Medicine where he was appointed Chief Resident of the General Psychiatry Residents Program.
He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Feldman is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Florida Psychiatric Society, the Tampa Psychiatric Society, the American Medical Association, and the Hillsborough County Medical Association.
Dr. Feldman has been practicing psychiatry since the completion of his residency in 2000.

About Tampa Community Hospital’s Addiction Recovery Center
The Addiction Recovery Center at Tampa Community Hospital is a private alcohol and drug recovery center (ARU). The Alcohol and Drug Recover Center at Tampa Community Hospital accepts patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week (with insurance approval). It is a 16 private bed unit for in-patient treatment as well as intensive out-patient care. It offers:
· Evaluation and intervention services
· Specialized programs for pregnant women
· After care for patients and families for up to two years
· Certified addictionologist on staff
· Three to five day opiate detoxification program with Buprenex
It also offers IM support groups for: cocaine recovery, alcohol recovery and narcotics recovery.
Tampa Community Hospital’s Addiction Recovery Center also includes special diets as needed and daily patient/physician conferences on diagnosis reports, progress, discharge status and plans. The Recovery Center stresses the need for an individualized treatment program. Each patient is assigned a primary counselor to help provide patient care. Individualized treatment plans and daily interventions help promote recovery.
The recovery program provides support services for families as well. At Tampa Community Hospital families are involved in the treatment program that emphasizes education within the context of family dynamics.
