Palm Harbor, FL – The Witch’s Brew, a 7-year old cafe/pub in Historic Downtown Palm Harbor is celebrating 2 years of weekly drumming and dancing. Thursday, July 31st marks two years for the 50+ regular attendees who faithfully convene in the courtyard of The Witch’s Brew. This week, gatherers will enjoy free jello shots (while supplies last) and sample hemp seed cookies from 7 pm to 10 pm.
Baaba Ray Herod has facilitated this Drum Circle since its inception in 2012. The group started with an average of ten people and quickly ballooned to the current 50+ devotees as word travelled to the other Drum Circles in the Tampa Bay Area. Non-drummers frequently attend just to enjoy the primal beat. The drumming on Thursday nights has become accepted sound in the Old Palm Harbor area as residents can set their clock to it. “Neighboring residents have told me they enjoy the soothing drumbeat that travels out several blocks beyond the store. We stop at 10 pm to make sure we’re good neighbors,” says Lesley Klein, owner of the establishment.
The Witch’s Brew is a magickally-themed café featuring coffee from female growers in South America, Blue Bell ice cream and “everything in between” including spirits (beer and wine). The owner, Lesley Klein, brainstormed this unique eclectic coffeehouse that is themed after Witchy paraphernalia.
Inside the 600 square foot shoppe, a “Wall of Best Witches” features famous film and TV witches like Samantha from Bewitched and Harry Potter. “Witchy” gifts like Kitchen Witches, Witch’s Brew Candles, and magical bumper stickers are for sale. Open Mic Nights are held every Friday from 7 pm to 10 pm. Live entertainment is featured on an outside stage every Saturday night from 8 pm to 11 pm (held inside if there’s inclement weather). The Witch’s Brew HOUSE BAND, a classic rock & blues band called The Defendants, regularly performs along with other local musical artists.
The menu categories at The Witch’s Brew include: BREWS (coffees & teas), POTIONS (smoothies, juices & soups), EATS (salads, “sandwitches” & wraps), TREATS (ice cream & other desserts) and SPIRITS (beer & wine). Specialty wine drinks are featured with names like “Bloody Witches” (our version of a Bloody Mary) and “Midnight Margaritas”. FREE Wi-Fi Internet Access is provided for laptop & smart phone users.
The mission statement of The Witch’s Brew is: To provide a welcoming place where patrons can nourish their bodies with wholesome foods & beverages, and feed their spirits with great company in this positive space.
