Hillsborough County’s Pet Resource Center, the County’s animal shelter, will kick off First Saturday Celebrations beginning Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the facility at 440 N. Falkenburg Road in Tampa.
The on-site series aims to save lives and boost community engagement by offering regular pet adoption specials and events recurring on the first Saturday of each month.
The inaugural First Saturday Celebration event will feature pet adoptions priced as low as $20 along with free kids’ activities and food trucks, including the Rolling Gourmet and Big Bang Barbeque.
Hillsborough County’s Pet Resource Center offers a wide variety of adoptable pets for a great value: every dog and cat adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, micro-chip and County license tag. Kennels marked “now can go” will showcase the many animals fully vetted and ready to leave for their forever homes. More than 100 of these adorable adoptables will be available at the First Saturday Celebration on August 2.
Because the Pet Resource Center is often the first place to receive the community’s lost and surrendered pets, the shelter hopes to be the first place adopters consider when bringing home a new furry, family member. The facility is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for adoptions, lost pet searches, and County pet license tags.
