(Bradenton, FL)… Manatee Glens, Your Community Behavioral Health Hospital, has added a poster competition and a Mega Yard Sale to the 12th annual Manatee Glens Run/Walk for Life. The 5k sanctioned run and scenic walk takes place Saturday, September 27 at 8 a.m. in Sutton Park in Palmetto. This is the annual community event to raise awareness of help for depression and suicide prevention.
The poster contest theme is “Inspire Hope,” and entrants are asked to create an 11×17 poster using pencil, pen & ink, crayons, colored pencils or markers. There will be prizes for top entries in elementary school, Middle & High School and Adults. The posters are due in the Manatee Glens Administration Office, 391 6th Avenue West, Bradenton by September 5, 2014.
“While depression and suicide are serious, weighty issues, we want to encourage people—especially children, teens, young adults and families—by showing them that there is hope,” explained Manatee Glens President/CEO Mary Ruiz. “The poster contest encourages creativity and expression, which are good for mental health.
