-Election comes on heels of Robeck’s recent “Rotarian of the Year” award-
St. Petersburg, Fla. (July 22, 2014) — In a member vote this month, Tobin Robeck – Vice President with Clearwater-based P.J. Callaghan Construction – was elected president of the Rotary Club’s St. Petersburg foundation known as the Sunset Rotary Foundation.
Robeck and other newly elected board members will serve one-year terms. Other officers include: Adam Hopkins, Joseph Shankwitz, Kristin Lohr, and Katie Barber.
Also, last month Robeck was honored with the “Sunset Award” which recognizes the chapter’s “Rotarian of the Year.” Initiating two new flagships events were noted as major contributors to Robeck’s award:
• After a successful launch last November, planning for the second annual Battle of the Bands this fall is currently underway, again in partnership with Green Bench Brewing; and
• The first Engage St. Pete event this past May drew more than 300 young professionals – along with top community/business leaders – designed to facilitate opportunities and relationships that enhance awareness and involvement in civic endeavors. Sunset Rotary co-hosts Engage with the Chamber’s St. Pete Young Professionals.
• Additionally, award considerations included: fundraising success, generating relationships with new local organizations, and active involvement with local causes/issues.
With P.J. Callaghan Construction, Robeck manages daily operations, finance and crew allocation. His background includes banking and managerial experience along with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
