In only its second year, the GELATIN PLUNGE increased net proceeds for the Children’s Cancer Center by more than 197% over its first year. Launched in 2013, the GELATIN PLUNGE raised $42,000 net revenue for the Center. In 2014, that amount nearly tripled to a whopping $124,943!
“It’s because of our continuing relationships with partners and supporters that we are able to show such significant growth year-on-year for key events like this,” said Steve Manuel, Director of Development for the Children’s Cancer Center. “Without such passionate support from Tampa Bay businesses and individuals alike, such achievement just wouldn’t be possible. We thank each and every one of them and are honored to work with them in aid of the children and families we serve.”
One such key partner of this year’s Gelatin Plunge was title sponsor, Caspers Company McDonald Restaurants. Says Bob Conigliaro, V.P. of Community Relations for Caspers Company, “We have long been a proud supporter of our Tampa Bay community, with a particular emphasis on matters close to the hearts of children and families, so we have been honored to be the title sponsor of the second annual Gelatin Plunge!”

About the Children’s Cancer Center
While other organizations are committed to finding a cure tomorrow, the Children’s Cancer Center is committed to helping families cope today. Founded in 1974, the mission of the Children’s Cancer Center’s revolves around the understanding that a child’s diagnosis becomes the entire family’s diagnosis. Support is therefore offered to all members of the family throughout this difficult journey – from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. Programs fall into one of three main areas of support: emotional, educational or financial. Here, kids and families are offered hope and can learn to cope together, as a strong family unit.
