Community Haven for Adults and Children with Disabilities, Inc., welcomes new members and officer appointees to its Board of Directors for 2014-15. Ted Bogusz is Board Chairperson, and Michael Scicluna is First Chair, and Liisa Neumann, Second Chair. Sharon Chiodi, Secretary, and Emily Lovesky Mruczek, Treasurer, return to these Board-appointed positions. In addition, the Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Wendy Mann Resnick, formerly of United Cerebral Palsy; Kelia R. Bazile, of Joint Venture Partner Carrabba’s; and Yvonne Eubanks, Loaned Executive for The United Way of Sarasota County. Continuing their service on the Board of Directors are Patricia D. Crauwels, Eric R. Hoonhout, Jeremiah Webb, Glen J. Distefano, and Richard Findlay. The other Community Haven Board members are Christopher Whaley, Jeff Eslinger, Matt Hightower, Jo Rita Stevens, and Marla Doss, President and CEO.

Community Haven for Adults and Children with Disabilities, Inc., is a sixty-year-old, community-based human service agency. Annually, over seven hundred children, teens, and adults with physical and developmental disabilities are served. MISSION STATEMENT: Through the support of the community and the generosity of its donors, Community Haven empowers independence and inclusion in all aspects of society for children, teenagers, and adults with disabilities by meeting their needs for therapy, education, socialization, housing, fitness, vocational training, job placement, and recreation. VISION STATEMENT: Our vision is that all people with disabilities have good health; the fullest measure of success with school; aloving home; meaningful work; and unity with family, friends, and the community. This is achieved by creating solutions with specialized services/programs that change the lives of consumers, enabling them to become educated, self-sufficient, responsible, community members involved in all aspects of everyday life. The organization fosters and promotes equal opportunities, a better quality of life, and full involvement in the community for those served.
