Tampa, Fla. – July 15, 2014 – Carlton Fields Jorden Burt welcomes Jordan D. August to its Tampa office as an associate. August practices in the firm Taxation and Estates and Trusts practices, which are components of the firm’s Business Transactions practice group.
August represents both individuals and entities in the areas of federal and state tax law, tax controversies, estate planning, and probate administration. He concentrates his practice on a wide range of federal tax matters, specifically those related to closely-held businesses and individuals.
Previously he was an associate at Barnett, Bolt, Kirkwood, Long & McBride. He has also served as a legal fellow for Chief Tax Counsel Mark Prater for the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance and as a summer associate at Jones, Foster, Johnston & Stubbs, P.A.
August is a member of American Bar Association, The Florida Bar Tax Section, and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. He received his LL.M. in Taxation and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, and his B.S. from the University of Florida’s Fischer School of Accounting.
