SARASOTA, Fla. — A Sarasota-based startup with ties to France is introducing a cutting edge product to market that will revolutionize the way Realtors, marketing brokers and developers sell properties before they are built.
The Avant virtual reality system allows buyers to explore condos, townhouses, single-family residences, even office space, as though those developments were already built, providing a “real feel.”
“Potential buyers will be able to see it before it is built,” says Frank Elge, CEO and Co-Founder of Avant, who has a background in technology and real estate and is guiding the development team. “This is the future of sales.”
Avant uses Oculus Rift technology, bridging the software gap between digital architecture renderings and the Oculus hardware/software component. Avant personally tailors each development to ensure the most realistic experience for buyers. By using the Oculus Rift, a prospective buyer can look up, down, sideways, turn around and generally explore rooms and outer areas through life-like animation — a huge step beyond watching on a computer screen.
“This is a tool for real estate professionals or anyone marketing new residential developments,” says Greg Orquera, Co-Founder and CFO of Avant. Orquera, a native of France, runs Orquera Florida Investments, with offices in Sarasota and Paris, to sell properties in Southwest Florida to investors in French-speaking countries such as France, Belgium and Switzerland.
Avant has already been successfully used with customers in France and currently is under contract with a developer outside Paris, who is building 33 lots.
