Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) Foundation recently received a grant of $5,000 from the Rays Baseball Foundation Community Fund Grant Program. The funds will support PHSC’s Concept College outreach program that provides an opportunity for at-risk students to explore a variety of career pathways and encourages participants to attend college. PHSC’s Concept College serves disadvantaged Pasco and Hernando County students who are likely to drop out of school or have little expectation of enrolling or graduating from college.
The PHSC Foundation was one of twenty nonprofit organizations to receive a grant through the Community Fund Grant Program. The Rays Foundation presented the award to PHSC Foundation Board Vice Chair George “Skip” Miller and PHSC Director of Development Maria Hixon at a banquet held at Tropicana Field on June 6.
