The Tampa campus features innovative learning centers which promote learning through simulation.
“Our learning centers provide a unique experience for our students and community members to practice in a safe and effective environment. With high-fidelity mannequins and advanced simulation equipment, our constituents are able to hone the skills required in today’s demanding healthcare environment,” said Karen Altemose, MSN, RN the Dean of Nursing for the Tampa campus.
The Simulation Center at Jersey College will be dedicated in memory of Ms. Cheryl Goforth, RN – former Chief Nursing Officer at Brandon Regional Hospital and Northside Hospital. Ms. Goforth was passionate about nursing and expanding nursing education in the Tampa area. She had a grand plan to have a student nurse at each patient’s bedside. Jersey College has been privileged to assist in Ms. Goforth’s plan and educate nurses that are able to join the health team and contribute to meeting the total needs of the patient. Student nurses will continue to be educated in her memory through the Goforth Learning Center at Jersey College.
