Tampa, Florida (July 8, 2014) – Tampa Community Hospital (formerly Town & Country Hospital) announces that its medical staff recently donated $10,000 to Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc.
Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc. is a charitable organization providing guide dogs to people with visual impairments since 1982. It provides a wide range of services out of three locations: Southeastern Guide Dogs campus, 4210 77 Street, East Palmetto, Florida; training center and dog boutique at 1618 Main Street, Sarasota, Florida, and Southeastern Guide Dogs Outreach Center and dog boutique, 316 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, Florida. Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc. is accredited by the International Guide Dog Federation in Reading, England and is a member of the council of US Guide Dog Schools.
The donation was made on behalf of and approved by the entire medical staff of Tampa Community Hospital, and coordinated by Katherine Macoul, MD, Chief of Staff and ophthalmologist and Raul Boggio, MD, Medical Staff Treasurer and Chief Pathologist.
Within the last six months, the medical staff of Tampa Community Hospital has donated:
· $10,000 to Rosa Valdes Early Childhood Center
· $10,000 to The Children’s Home
· $10,000 to the Souvenir Children Foundation of Haiti
