Moves by growing firm include listing a portion of its Clearwater campus for sale
CLEARWATER, Fla. (July 9, 2014) – Johnson, Pope, Bokor, Ruppel & Burns LLP is working with Colliers International Tampa Bay on the sale of one of its office buildings in Clearwater, in an effort to more efficiently use its office space while making plans for future growth.
The law firm, which owns three contiguous buildings in downtown Clearwater, is consolidating operations to two of the buildings, while selling the third. The firm is growing, having recently added two new lawyers to the Clearwater office, but with the advancement of technology, the amount of space needed to run a law firm has dramatically shrunk.
“Rooms once designated as libraries and paper file storage are no longer necessary as most materials have transitioned online, leaving us with excess space,” said Guy Burns, Managing Partner at Johnson Pope.
The three-story, 14,428-square-foot office building for sale, located at 915 Chestnut St., is listed at $2.5 million. The property features 47 parking spots, 11 of which are covered spaces.
The Colliers team is also facilitating the sale of an adjacent land parcel owned by Johnson Pope located at 1009 Court St., next to the Clearwater office building that’s for sale. Sun Proof Tinting, located on the land, will remain in business at its current location.
Carol Warren, CCIM, Vice President and Senior Director of Commercial Services, and Amy Barrett, CCIM, Senior Associate of Commercial Services, with Colliers International Tampa Bay are the brokers facilitating the sale.
All of Johnson Pope’s current 52 employees will continue to occupy the remaining two buildings, and the firm expects to continue to add additional lawyers and support personnel in Clearwater.
Johnson Pope also has thriving locations in St. Petersburg and Tampa.
