Tampa, Fla. – July 7, 2014 – Carlton Fields Jorden Burt Health Care attorneys Radha Bachman and T.J. Ferrante have been selected to serve on various Councils of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA).
Bachman will serve on AHLA Women’s Leadership Council for a one-year term. She and seven others were selected from a national pool of qualified applicants. The Council guides the activities of AHLA’s new Women’s Network. It offers members professional development opportunities and networking events to make it possible for them to gain skills and tools necessary in their professions.
Bachman is a shareholder practicing in the firm’s national Health Care practice group. She provides clients with a full range of legal counsel on a variety of matters including provider operations; mergers and acquisitions; single specialty and multi-specialty physician group formation and representation; Medicare/Medicaid issues; and institutional and individual health care provider contracts. She is board certified in Health Law by The Florida Bar and she is licensed as a Health Care Risk Manager in the state of Florida.
Ferrante will serve on the AHLA Young Professionals Council for a one-year term. He also was selected into the Leadership Development Program of the AHLA’s Hospitals and Health Systems Practice Group for a one-year term.
The Young Professionals Council selects only two new members each year. This year’s pool of applicants spanned nearly 100. The Young Professionals Council provides opportunities for young professionals to network and develop key skill sets through mentoring, events, and social media. The Leadership Development Program aids members in developing their leadership skills, specifically in the AHLA practice group.
Ferrante is an associate practicing in the firm’s national Health Care practice group. He focuses his practice on a wide range of transactional and related regulatory issues for health industry clients, including for-profit and not-for-profit hospitals and health systems, multi-specialty physician practice groups, and long-term care providers. He has experience with a variety of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic affiliations, obtaining and maintaining tax-exemption, employment contracts and leases, and other transactional matters.
