This series of five workshops is designed for people who are considering starting or purchasing a business. SCORE volunteers serve as workshop presenters and volunteer SCORE mentors will be on hand to answer questions.
Startup Basics covers critical factors in achieving business success and the advantages and disadvantages of different business structures. It is free, but pre-registration is requested.
Attending the entire workshop series is recommended, although registration is open to any session. The fee for the remaining workshops is $25 each. Attendees who complete the series receive 16 hours of training, materials for each workshop and assistance from experienced SCORE mentors.
The workshops that complete this series are: Your Business Concept (August 4), Marketing Plan (August 11), Financial Projections (August 18), and Funding Sources (August 25).
All workshops in this series will be held on Monday evenings, beginning at 5:30 p.m., at Argosy University, 5250 17th St., Sarasota. The workshops end at 8:30 p.m., except for Financial Projections, which is a 4-hour session.
