St. Petersburg, FL (June 20, 2014) – Edward White Hospital announced the appointment of four new members to its Board of Trustees: Christos Politis, M.D., Thomas Mixa, M.D., Mario Farias and Bob Devin Jones.
Christos Politis, M.D. is a Urologist in St Petersburg, Florida. He is an expert in robotic prostate cancer surgery. Dr. Politis completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and received his medical degree at the University of South Florida College Of Medicine. He completed his residency in Urology at the University of South Florida College Of Medicine. Dr. Politis has authored several publications on advanced laparoscopy for testicular and prostate cancer and is the Chief of Surgery at Edward White Hospital.
Thomas Mixa, M.D. is an Orthopedic Surgeon in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Mixa received his medical degree from The Rosalind Franklin School of Medicine/The Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency at John Hopkins University School of Medicine and is a fellowship trained joint specialist. Dr. Mixa has been practicing minimally invasive surgery since 1991 and has completed over 3500 joint replacements, to date.
Mario Farias is the CEO of Farias Consulting Group. Farias Consulting Group specializes in multinational business development strategies and has successfully led campaigns to bring foreign industry to the Tampa Bay area. Mr. Farias also serves as a Board Member of the SO49 Business Association, St. Petersburg Dream Center and is the St. Petersburg organizer and point of contact for Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay.
Bob Devin Jones is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of The Studio@620 in St. Petersburg. The Studio@620 develops artistic and educational programs that integrate various art forms, with the goal of encouraging new cultural experiences for both the artists and audience. Mr. Jones graduated from Loyola Marymount University and also attended the American Conservatory in San Francisco as well as completing a one year tutorial at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England. For the past ten years, he has worked in the Theatre primarily as a Playwright and as a Director. He has been a resident of St. Petersburg since 1997, participating in many educational and cultural organizations.
