Bradenton, FL, June 17, 2014 – Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee was awarded a $33,697 grant from William G. and Marie Selby Foundation.  The purpose of the grant is to upgrade current computer hardware and software to help track meal preparation, client information, transportation, volunteers and donations.  Technology and innovation are two key values of Meals on Wheel PLUS and this grant will improve the functionality throughout the organization.

“This grant will allow Meals on Wheels PLUS programs to run more efficiently and will ultimately allow us to better serve our clients”, says Maribeth Phillips, CEO of Meals on Wheels PLUS.

The organization was founded as a traditional “meals on wheels” service over 40 years ago.  Additional programs were offered as needs arose, all residing within one entity. New software will enable the programs to interface, improving accuracy, reporting and efficiency.
