(Tampa, FL)– Powerstories Theatre presents its first “Comedy Lab” for high school students. Taught by Susan Guidi, local pioneering Tampa Bay business leader and Comedienne, this program expands the reach of Powerstories Theatre. Powerstories has always served middle school students and adults. We are now beginning to offer courses throughout the year for high school students. Our first offering will make you laugh, and it will give you experience with increasing your confidence on stage!
This week long evening lab is held at Powerstories Theatre, 2105 W. Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa, July 7 – 11, from 6-9 PM culminating in a Night of Comedy on July 12th, open to the public, featuring the workshop participants. Location of performance TBD. About Susan Guidi – Tampa native Susan Guidi, M.S., R.D.M.S., is president of Advanced Ultrasound Services and was recently nominated a senior member of the prestigious American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. Susan was one of the first Sonographers to practice 3D/4D ultrasound.
Susan’s comedic career started in 2005 with classes instructed by Ranney Lawrence at the Patel Conservatory. Following Patel, Susan went on to the American Comedy Institute in NYC and studied with award winning writer, director and comedy coach Steven Rosenfield.
Susan’s stage debut was in NYC at the Gotham Comedy Club in 2008. That same year Susan was a semi-finalist in Florida’s Funniest Person contest. Susan has also performed stand-up at the Improv in Tampa & Orlando, as well as Sidesplitters.
