Transit plan will lead to new economic opportunities and enhanced quality of life, says group.
Tampa, Fla. – NAIOP Tampa Bay, the commercial real estate trade association, today joined a growing number of Bay Area business and community leaders supporting the Greenlight Pinellas transportation plan and November 4th referendum. “An effective, reliable and affordable public transportation system is a key economic driver and critical component to quality of life enhancements for Pinellas County and Tampa Bay residents,” said NAIOP Tampa Bay president Kami Corbett. “NAIOP Tampa Bay supports the Greenlight Pinellas transit plan and our members look forward to successful passage of the November campaign referendum.”
Increased mobility options, lifestyle benefits and opportunities for transit-oriented development are three significant outcomes that NAIOP Tampa Bay members expect through the successful adoption of the Greenlight Pinellas plan. “Demographic groups including young employees, seniors and veterans all seek transit options beyond the automobile,” continued Corbett. “The Greenlight Pinellas plan delivers by offering increased bus options, more rapid bus service and commuter rail to major employment centers. In addition, smart investment in public transportation leads to economic growth and quality of life enhancements. Greenlight Pinellas will improve our area’s quality of life by improving the quality of Pinellas County’s economic environment. All in all, NAIOP Tampa Bay members are very optimistic about the economic opportunities, lifestyle enhancements and increased transit choices that the Greenlight Pinellas plan offers.”
