Ride Through History
Snoozapalooza – A Night at the Museum
Largo, FL (June 10, 2014) The Armed Forces History Museum is gearing up for summer, which will include events in July and August. Tickets for all special events are available now at armedforcesmuseum.com, by calling 727.539.8371 or in person at the museum either in advance or the day of the event unless otherwise noted.
Back by popular demand, as well as due to its successful run last year, Ride Through History will return for four dates this summer. Taking place on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm, the 2014 dates include July 12, July 26, August 9 and August 23. Tickets are deeply discounted to $10 for adults and $5 for youths 4-12. Ride Through History takes guests back in time with WWII re-enactors from the 1st Infantry Division conducting presentations and drills, as well as military vehicle rides, museum tours, free hot dogs, and 10% off of all museum store merchandise.
For the very first time the Armed Forces History Museum will be producing a sleepover. This after hours event, Snoozapalooza – A Night at the Museum, begins on Friday, August 1 with registration between 6:30pm and 7pm. The event ends on Saturday, August 2 at 8am. Children and their adult companions can experience a night of adventure featuring movies and popcorn, WWII re-enactors, make your own sundaes, a scavenger hunt in the dark, Virtual Voyager simulator rides, arts and crafts activities, and a hot breakfast cooked and served by the Marine Corps League’s Morris F. Dixon, Jr. Det. 54. Children must be between the ages of 6 and 12, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 21 or older, and must have an adult child ratio of 1:3. Everyone is asked to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, blanket and flashlight. Tickets are $65 for adults and children. Tickets for groups of ten or more are discounted to $55 each by calling the museum’s group sales department at 727.539.8371 ext. 107. Please note that guests must register and pay no later than July 26 as space is limited.
