Gattaca is a private junior college program which operates similarly to a traditional junior college football program. Gattaca was founded in 2010 and is based out of New Jersey. Over the past four years Gattaca has successfully transferred more than 40 college student-athletes to top college football programs such as South Carolina, Utah State, Rutgers University, Temple University, Alabama State, Monmouth University.
Gattaca currently operates three junior college football teams in Delaware, New Jersey, and now Florida. Each location has a unique website with complete details and the main web portal for links to all three programs is www.GATTACASPORTS.com. The newest location is located in Tampa, Florida and is led by head coach, Daniel Mcleod.
Prior to taking the head coaching position at Gattaca, Coach Mcleod was a coach/educator at MacArthur North Senior High School. Coach Mcleod is a native of Miami where he graduated from Carol City Senior High School as a multiple sport athlete. He went on to Tuskegee University where he continued to play football and baseball.
Stetson University JV and Florida Tech JV headline the 2014 junior college game schedule for Gattaca Football. Gattaca will also play Weber International JV and Ave Maria JV. The complete game schedule will be announced in July.
Because of Gattaca’s junior college status, all games verse NCAA/NAIA teams are verse the Junior Varsity (JV) teams from those schools. A JV team is comprised of freshman and sophomore student-athletes on the football team. Many colleges field a JV team to get additional game experience for their younger players. Gattaca will play an 8-10 game schedule verse JV college teams, junior college teams and prep schools.
