May 21, 2014, Bradenton, Florida – After earning the honor of “Best Ballpark Renovation (over $1Million)” from Ball Park Digest, the Pittsburgh Pirates are planning a new Major League Clubhouse at McKechnie Field and a new Strength and Conditioning facility at Pirate City in Bradenton, Florida.
The one story, 22,500 square foot Major League Clubhouse is located at McKechnie Field, the Spring Training home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Clubhouse will include a strength and conditioning room, athletic training room, hydrotherapy, equipment room, 65 lockers, kitchen/dining hall, coaches conference room, and media/press conference space.
At Pirate City, the new Strength and Conditioning facility is a 12,240 square foot two-story volume building which will include a Coaches Office, Conference Room, Private Office, Storage Room,Server Room, Restrooms, and an Open Exercise Area for equipment and group fitness programs.
Both projects are underway with Fawley Bryant as the Architect of Record and NDC Construction as the Design Build firm – the same team which successfully completed the recent award-winning renovations to McKechnie Field in 2013.
