Kevin Taylor, President of the Board states “The banquet is EETF’s opportunity to highlight their clients’ success and to honor and thank those employers in our community for helping them achieve their goals.” All proceeds from this benefit will assist EETF with their mission to educate, train and assist disabled individuals in finding employment in our community.
According to Tom Lawson, Executive Director, “The U.S. Department of Labor reports the employment rate of persons with disabilities is 21.1% vs. the employment rate of 69.6% for those persons without a disability. The disparity is glaring. In Manatee County, as reported by the U.S. Census Bureau, there are approximately 39,800 adult individuals with a disability. There is a great need for the services offered by EETF. “
EETF faces major obstacles with fundraising during these economic hard times. Fundraising is the lifeblood of this organization. Events like the banquet help incur the necessary monies to continue the organization’s mission.
