Tampa, Fla. – May 15, 2014 – After its wildly successful event last year, Ignite Tampa Bay returns with its simple premise: “Enlighten us, but make it quick.” Since 2006, Ignite has presented hundreds of talks around the world, sparking thriving Ignite communities in Portland, Sydney, Boulder, Baltimore, New York, and Tampa. Presenters are asked: If you had five minutes on stage, what would you say? What if you got only 20 slides, and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? Touching briefly on a variety of topics, from the DIY community to parent-educator relationships, and presented by anyone and everyone, Ignite events are all-ages, fast-paced, sometimes-unpredictable, and always thought-provoking.
This year we have selected another historical landmark for the event, The Cuban Club Theatre in Ybor City. The speaker lineup is amazing with an American Ninja Warrior, a brilliant 14 year old girl, a rocket scientist, Indie Films & Music, active Vulnerability…and that’s just for starters!
We could never to do this event without you, the community, some great volunteers and our amazing sponsors. Very special thanks to Cigar City Brewing, Forex Factory, Valpak, Applied G2, Carvoyant, TiE Tampa Bay, Hillsborough County, StartupGrind, Girls Inc. and Haneke Design for their tremendous support of this community event.
If you are unfamiliar or got caught in a time warp for the last four years and don’t know about Ignite Tampa Bay is a high-energy evening designed to inspire, educate, entertain and spark new ideas and conversations across cultures and disciples of the Tampa Bay Community. Through fast-paced, bite-sized presentations community members get on stage and share their personal or professional passion. It’s a great opportunity to meet smart, interesting people (if we do say so ourselves) and maybe even learn something.
Ignite Tampa Bay Tickets are available here and going fast. Be sure to join the meetup group at: http://www.meetup.com/IgniteTampaBay/ for updates on the event and let everyone you’re going!
