May marks the start of St. Petersburg Preservation’s summer evening historic walking tour series with “Twilight on the Town” historic walking tours. Tours will be offered one evening a month over the summer months (thru September).
When: First Twighlight Tour – Tuesday, May 27
Time: 7 pm (tour lasts approximately 75 minutes)
Location: Tour starts in front of Central Cafe & Organics, 243 Central Ave. (next to the historic Detroit Hotel). Tour ends at St. Pete Brew, 544 1st Ave. N.
Wondering what to do on a summer mid-week evening? Join St. Petersburg Preservation for a relaxing downtown stroll, learn a bit of history, something about architectural styles and all followed by a chance at the end of the tour to cool down and continue the conversation while enjoying one of downtown’s fun spots. Those joining the tour will get a chance to see some of the best of downtown’s 1920’s boom era architecture and hear stories about how sunshine, bathing beauties and sports were used to market St. Pete as the place to go!
The May 27 tour will end at St. Pete Brew, the newest of the ‘Burg’s hometown craft breweries to open in a historic downtown commercial store front with Angelo’s Pizza next door.
All are welcome.
Tour is free for members, $5 suggested donation for nonmembers. Reservations welcome but not required: (727) 824-7802 or info@StPetePreservation.org.
