[Sarasota, FL – May 7, 2014] Plymouth Harbor on Sarasota Bay honored housekeeper, Lanette Davis, for forty years of service with at two special events during the anniversary week of her employment in 1974.
The Plymouth Harbor executive team and many of Lanette Davis’s co-workers surprised her early in the morning on April 29. CEO Harry Hobson presented Lanette with yellow roses, her favorite flower, along with a plaque honoring her for 40 years of service. In addition, Lanette Davis was named Plymouth Harbor’s Employee of the Month for May 2014, an honor which is accompanied by a designated parking space of honor, 8 hours of paid time off, and a gift card.
Two days later on May 1, Lanette was surprised by a similar gathering of many of the residents who appreciate her work on a daily basis. More yellow roses where accompanied by the love and gratitude from an even larger crowd in the living area of the 16th floor colony.
Plymouth Harbor has long been proud of its record of retaining employees for longer than the current median employee tenure of 4.6 years according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s 2013 report. While there are many employees at Plymouth Harbor with well over 10 years of service, Lanette Davis is a stellar example of employee dedication.
Lanette credits her length of service to the outstanding work environment and exceptional leadership, but most of all, it is for the sense of family both with her co-workers and the residents that she has cared for over the many years.
Reading the tribute prepared for the occasion, Harry Hobson shared a quote from residents Lanette has served. “She has brought sunshine into our lives and made it a pleasure to look forward to the hours she spends with us. We lovingly congratulate her on her attaining this outstanding record of dedication to Plymouth Harbor and wish her many more years of good health and happiness.”
