Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano recently accepted an award from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve agency. The award, signed by Ronald Young, Executive Director, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, and Paul Mock, National Chair of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, recognizes: “Mike Fasano, Tax Collector as a Patriotic Employer for Contributing to National Security and Protecting Liberty and Freedom by Supporting Employee Participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve Force.”
In late September of 2013 the Pasco County Tax Collectors Office welcomed back Hartz Hartzell from his third tour of combat duty with Army Reserve Unit, 320 Military Police Company. Hartzell is a 18-year member of the United States Army and an employee of the tax collector since 2011. Hartzell was recently deployed for another tour of duty.
“It is an honor that the Department of Defense recognizes this office for its policy to treat employees who are also members of the Guard and Reserve with the respect they deserve,” states Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “Hartz Hartzell is a fine example of the best and the brightest our nation’s Armed Services has protecting the freedoms we enjoy each and every day. We welcomed Hartz back last fall when he returned and we look forward to welcoming him again when this current tour is over.”
Mike Fasano has signed the Statement of Support For the Guard and Reserve, which is co-signed by Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and Paul Mock, National Chair of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. The statement expresses understanding and support of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act and the importance of hiring members of the Reserve, the Guard and military veterans.
