Animal lover Christine Barsema originally began training show competition dogs as a hobby. Now, she is the successful owner of K-9 Detectives, LLC, a Clearwater, Florida business that offers certified canine detection of bedbugs, mold, drugs and termites. K-9 Detectives has grown from Barsema’s passion for her work and that of her dogs, but also from the knowledge and resources available through the Florida Small Business Development Center ((FSBDC) at Pinellas County Economic Development (PCED). products at Expo Seguridad in Mexico
Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) led a delegation of six Florida businesses, including Pinellas businesses Ditek and HighCom Security, to the April 8-10 exhibition. Expo Seguridad is a homeland security exhibition – the largest in Mexico – that offers top security companies a unique opportunity to demonstrate their competitive advantages in key targeted markets. EFI’s Target Sector Trade Grant program helped offset costs for four of the participating companies. Ditek Business Development Manager, Pedro Carrasquillo said of the event, “Exhibiting at the Expo Seguridad Mexico Security Trade Show with the assistance from Enterprise Florida will exponentially increase our reach, networking and sales opportunities for surge protection products in Mexico.”
