AVI-SPL Donates Collaborative Technology to Tampa Bay WaVE’s FirstWaVE Venture Center
TAMPA, FLA., (April 23, 2014) – Leading video communications provider AVI-SPL has brought a new way to communicate for Tampa Bay WaVE’s members. AVI-SPL has donated an array of collaborative technology to Tampa Bay WaVE’s FirstWaVE Venture Center for use by their 120-members of local start-up companies, helping entrepreneurs turn ideas into growing technology ventures.
AVI-SPL installed two 50’’ displays in the lobby of Tampa Bay WaVE featuring social media feeds and announcements, a projector for presentations, a large 72-inch interactive display, speakers, a podium for larger events and video recording equipment.
“The technology provided by AVI-SPL is another building block in the foundation we are forming here at Tampa Bay WaVE to help entrepreneurs launch and grow successful tech ventures,” says Linda Olson, President of Tampa Bay WaVE, “We are excited to see the continued success of our accelerators with the generous gift from AVI-SPL.”
The technology donated by AVI-SPL will greatly enhance the learning experience of the more than 5,000 entrepreneurs that visit the center each year for educational workshops and other events. In addition, this equipment will also promote start-up business acceleration by providing entrepreneurs with collaboration tools for brainstorming and problem-solving, as well as online communication tools for engaging with potential investors, customers and strategic partners. Likewise, the video recording equipment will help these entrepreneurs refine their business pitches and create online video content for their businesses.
“AVI-SPL is proud to support Tampa Bay WaVE’s mission to accelerate start-up tech companies in the Bay area,” said John Zettel, AVI-SPL CEO. “AVI-SPL was founded in 1979 with an entrepreneurial spirit that we’ve maintained to this day. I’m looking forward to seeing more tech companies flourish in this area.”
Tampa Bay WaVE and the FirstWaVE Venture Center have seen 39 companies launch and grow in the accelerator program located at the In-Rel Properties Rivergate Tower in downtown Tampa.
