St. Petersburg, FL – (April 25, 2014) Sample handcrafted sweets, rather than seafood or meats, perfectly paired with a selection of fine wines 4 – 6 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Everything Dolce. Located at 937 Central Ave., Everything Dolce is a new dessert bar in downtown St. Petersburg.
Wines selected exclusively to pair with pastries will mix well with select made-from-scratch desserts at this special event. Featured wines highlight each dessert dish and add an element that completes, rather than competes, with the distinctive flavors of French Nut Cake or Belgian Fudge Brownies.

The five-course “Dolce Vino” menu features the following desserts accompanied by wines from Western Wine Merchants:
- Cannoli paired with Foris Moscato
- French Nut Cake paired with McNab Carisma (semi-sparkling syrah)
- Belgian Fudge Brownie paired with Kiona Lemberger
- Custard Brioche paired with Kiona Late Harvest Riesling
- William Dean Chocolates paired with McNab Torte Chocolate Port
“Typically people focus on what wine they want to enjoy while dining on fish or a filet and tend to not consider how wine can enhance the flavors of a dessert,” said Lou Albano, owner of Everything Dolce. The restaurant includes a 1,000-square-foot dining room adjacent to an outside courtyard spanning 1,250 feet.
“With the extraordinary talents of Executive Pastry Chef Michael Ostrander and the exceptional wines provided by Western Wine Merchants, we have created a sensational tasting menu that will give our guests new appreciation for how well sweets and wines go together.”
Chef Michael Ostrander is an executive pastry chef who prepares all of the pastries and desserts featured daily at Everything Dolce. His award-winning career includes serving as a pastry educator at Johnson & Wales Culinary Institute as well as working at upscale hotels and resorts throughout the country, including the Beverly Hills Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA and Donald Trump’s Mar a Lago Club in Palm Beach, FL. He earned a gold medal in a prestigious, international pastry competition held in Graz, Austria and currently teaches beginning to advanced baking techniques at his baking academy in Largo.
Everything Dolce provides an appealing selection of pastries, baked goods, desserts, coffees, teas, sandwiches, wraps and salads plus imported and domestic wines and craft beers.
Live music is performed Tuesday through Sunday and operating hours are 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. until midnight Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4p.m. Sundays.
