At MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition, YOU become the myth buster. You test the myths and record your results to uncover the truth or myth behind these and other burning questions. Island of Lemurs: Madagascar – IMAX – Now showing
Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman narrates Island of Lemurs: Madagascar, the incredible true story of nature’s greatest explorers – lemurs. Captured with IMAX cameras, the film takes audiences on a spectacular journey to the remote and wondrous world of Madagascar. Lemurs arrived in Madagascar as castaways millions of years ago and evolved into hundreds of diverse species but are now highly endangered. Join trailblazing scientist Patricia Wright on her lifelong mission to help these strange and adorable creatures survive in the modern world. MOSI Math Tutoring (these events are on-going)

Program Fee: $35 per hour
MOSI is introducing math tutoring for elementary, middle and high school students up to and including Pre-Calculus. MOSI tutors are Florida Math Certified instructors familiar with the topics involved with the school, district, and state curriculum and each has passed a background check. MOSI specializes in taking the pain out of math through interactive, customized lessons.
Open Make Nights for Adults

Join us for an enjoyable and constructive evening where you can discover how your ideas can come to life with digital fabrication and other technologic tools. Take part in a mini workshop or network with other thinkers, inventors, and people who like to play with technology. Take part in an IdeaZone project or bring your work in progress to get help or to share. Fabrication materials will be available to purchase. Certification programs will be available for onsite registration.
Robot Fun Factory

Food Truck Madness
Saturday, April 25, 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
MOSI is hosting another Food Truck Madness! Attendees will have the opportunity to try food from the area’s coolest food trucks and enjoy great games and music. This event will be the Bay area’s last chance to see MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition at night. Guests also can conquer MOSI’s Sky Trail® Ropes Course and Zip Line in the dark. MOSI’s standard exhibit galleries also will be open at a discounted rate of $5. Admission to Food Truck Madness is free. Additional fees apply for MythBusters, Sky Trail attractions, and IMAX movies.
Kung Fu Panda – IMAX – Opens April 26
This exciting film returns to Florida’s largest screen and only IMAX Dome theatre. Enthusiastic, big and a little clumsy, Po is the biggest fan of kung fu around–which doesn’t exactly come in handy while working every day in his family’s noodle shop. Children’s Gala (free piggy banks available at MOSI now)
Saturday, May 3, 5 – 7 p.m.
This special evening, hosted by Sid the Science Kid, helps encourage kids to give change to make change. The evening will take place inside MOSI’s Kids In Charge! and will begin with a Kool-Aid happy hour and fun-filled science for the whole family. Dinner will be served, dessert first, with a build-your-own sundae bar and a variety of kid-perfect dinner options will follow. Admission to the Children’s Gala is your MOSI piggy bank filled with change and includes one parent chaperone (admission for additional parents or siblings without piggy banks is $10 each). Piggy banks are free and available to be picked up at MOSI. Kids are encouraged to stop by MOSI with mom or dad and pick up their free piggy bank, courtesy of the PNC Bank, before April 18. The money they raise will help send another child, who otherwise couldn’t afford it, to Summer Science Camp at MOSI. It all adds up and we will celebrate the culmination of this change campaign at the Children’s Gala on May 3.

Join us outside to see the universe up-close and personal through the MOSI telescopes. SkyWatch will feature viewings of the Orion nebula, the moon, Jupiter and Venus. Viewings begin at sundown. Please note: Clear skies are required to use the telescopes; SkyWatch will not be available if it is raining or cloudy. SkyWatch is a free event; however donations are welcome.

USF Engineers will be onsite to show some creative combustions while learning the science behind the reaction (within a safe distance). This event is included with general admission and free for members.

Treat your family to a hands-on night of creative explorations and building fun. Program video games, race robots on a track, make art with the laser cutter, build playful gadgets and plenty more. Preschool Science – Fabulous Fingerprints!

The City of Tampa and Hillsborough County, in partnership with MOSI, will host the 2014 Tampa Bay Hurricane Expo. Admission to the Tampa Bay Hurricane Expo is FREE, and will include access to MOSI’s Astronaut Training Adventure. MOSI’s Special engagement films and exhibits are not included.
Summer Science Camps – June 9 – Aug. 15
Whether it’s rocks or rockets that interest your child, MOSI’s Summer Science Camps offer something for everyone. Through hands-on experiments and projects, children will learn the wonder of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (S.T.E.A.M.). Attendees will have the opportunity to build roller coasters, create art with lasers, participate in a battle at Hogwarts, decipher DNA to solve crimes or cook up edible slime, depending on their age group and the week they attend. Registration for the Museum of Science & Industry’s 2013 Summer Science Camps are now open. MOSI’s Summer Science Camps begin Monday, June 9, and registration is available at MOSI.org.
