The Pasco-Hernando State College Foundation recently received a $7,000 gift from HCA hospitals, Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson, Fla. and Medical Center of Trinity, Trinity, Fla. The gift is matched with $11,256 from Florida Blue (formerly Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida) and the Florida College System Foundation bringing the combined gifts to total more than $22,500. The funds will provide more than 22, $1,000 scholarships to help PHSC students seeking careers in health to cover tuition costs during the 2014-2015 fall and spring semesters.
Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has supported this group of health program scholarships for three consecutive years and this is first gift from the Medical Center of Trinity. Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Fla., is also part of the HCA hospital system.
