Pan-Mediterranean specialties join familiar Italian and American favorites
Reaching beyond the shores of Italy, Cafe´ Americano has reinvented and expanded the luncheon menu to include delicious specialties from all the sunny countries of the Mediterranean. This new pan-Mediterranean menu is supported by food-friendly wines of the various regions.
Besides homemade soups and appetizers, which include tender fried calamari, there’s a new interpretation of beef carpaccio using the finest tenderloin, topped with organic baby arugula salad and aged Parmesan cheese. Experience a chopped Greek salad with grilled shrimp skewer, goat cheese and sun dried farmhouse house or a chopped antipasto salad. All ten salads are tossed to order with house-made signature balsamic vinaigrette or lemon herb vinaigrette. Our new burger menu includes Zorba, a Greek burger made from fresh all-natural ground lamb, crumbled feta and tzaziki sauce on warm Nan bread.
New sandwiches include a French tartine with smoked prosciutto, a chicken Milanese wrap, grilled marinated portobello on ciabatta with house-made pesto and roasted red peppers.
“After highly-focused consultation with trusted international chefs, we decided to expand our popular Italian menu to include the flavors of Spain, Morocco, Greece and France to name a few culinary-rich countries,” said Ambrish Piare proprietor of Cafe´ Americano. “But true to the word Americano in our name, we also have great classic and contemporary American bistro favorites such as the sirloin burger, Philly cheese steak, Caesar salad, the Manhattan featuring Morty’s bagels and lox platter with all the traditional trimmings, and the Americano club with turkey and pancetta.”
Although the new lunch menu at Cafe´ Americano is more worldly, the cafe is committed to sourcing local seafood, produce and making homemade pasta. The breads are baked locally and all ingredients are farm fresh. Signature sauces are made from scratch. The new lunch menu includes plenty of daily specials that feature homemade meatballs of the day, homemade gnocchi of the day, and a frittata of the day. Homemade pizzas are coming soon. Lunch prices average $10.95 to 12.95. Most items served with shoe string fries or mini salad. And the new complimentary bread basket is the best in the city featuring house-made herb bread sticks as well as baguettes and olive bread, cranberry and walnut bread from C’est la Vie and Bavarian Bread Company.
